You diagrammed this to be G-I.
My understanding is below.
When A precedes B, A-B
When A is preceded by B, B-A.
So, in the instant case, the diagram must be I-G I guess. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Yeah, I've presented it correctly.
You'll see it if you supply any meaningful case and think about it for a minute:
For example, if we know that Childhood precedes Adolescence, then does that mean if you're a Child, then you're an Adolescent (C → A)? Obviously not.
Here, as is always the case, the preceding factor is necessary and goes on the right: A → C (to be an Adolescent, one must first have been a Child)
