I viewed this as the argument purporting a single possible explanation and overlooking other possibilities - similar to D. The only reason for the cavities is because she chews more on one side? How do we not know that a its not for some other reason?

There's no connection between chewing and cavities (should we conclude that chewing causes cavities? Mightn't the abrasive action help avoid them?). In both our argument and (A), we are given a plausible explanation (Tannisch did it; teh cafeteria did it) that is then ignored by the conclusion. (D) is different at least in part because there is not some clearly plausible alternative presented to us and then ignored by the conclusion.
