I would say answer choice E is a pretty far statement compared to "confuses hypocrisy with dishonesty"...

i agree. for this question i thought the flaw of this arg was he attacks S and not his arg. but o well.

Yeah, I'm with you. Like I said, they phrased the answer differently than I would have.
When none of the answer choices show what we're looking for, though, we have to start examining them on their merits. Then, using what we know about the "overlooks the fact" phrasing helps us to see why (E) is correct.

There was a lot going on in this argument; however I pre-phrased this as "this clown states this is false just because Sigerson did it, (which was a little bit ad hominen) so because someone Sigerson did something in the past is not a basis for declaring the argument false. Perhaps he is changing this because he did it and it questioned his being bias and or prejudiced from past experience. I automatically thought that the jump in language from unethical to dishonest was nothing but a red herring. So when I saw E, took less then 30 seconds.
