I took "It was misleading for James" as James being confused by the chair not that James was misleading the committee as in "It was misleading OF James to ..."
One small word caused so much trouble.

Oh, for sure! LIke the difference between "I do love you very much" and "I do not love you very much."
So, when I talk about slowing down, I just mean slowing enough to read the words for their full, actual meaning.
