No, that certainly doesn't have to be true.
Consider the analogous argument:
In American football, only three players touch the ball during field goal attempts: the long snapper, the holder, and the kicker. Thus, at least some field goals are scored by football long snappers.
Just as that claim isn't supported by the evidence, so also can we not prove that there have ever been any advances funded by corporations.
