What do you mean when you say "structural units of words" at the end of the video?

I mean that for the majority of the test—and particularly when the test writers use conditional reasoning—the value of words is not a matter of their semantic content, but of their utility as structural units of reasoning.
For example, in my life I'd assign a tremendous difference in value to these two things, if you were to say them to me:
Dave Hall is a genius.
or
Dave Hall is an asshole.
Their value in my life is semantic, and it's wildly different.
If either of them appeared on the test, however, I'd assign them equal value—the last word in each sentence is valuable inasmuch as it represents the necessary condition of the relationship.
Clearer?
