Even after the video I'm a bit confused. The passage tells us that their station has correctly forecasted rain more times than their competitors, but if answer choice A is true and they forecast rain more than their competitors one would be led to believe that their accuracy could have gone down percentage-wise, which would actually weaken the argument.
Can you please clarify?

Here's your problem: "...but if answer choice A is true and they forecast rain more than their competitors one would be led to believe that their accuracy could have gone down percentage-wise..."
Why think that? There's no reason to believe that's true, but even if there were, the effect of doing so would be simply to say that the evidence of the passage isn't true. And as we've discussed, we do not ever do that!

So, assert the assumption as if it's true and then strengthen. I didn't know that you could do this. No wonder I've been screwing up.
Okay, so if we didn't go with A, then it would leave open the possibility that if the author's station didn't forecast rain more than the other local new stations, then the other stations could still have correctly predicted rain more than us, by exact number and not by the average?
