How did you come to the assumption that there are more classical pianists than non-classical pianists for the diagram? Thanks

That's the thing; we have no idea what the numbers are in each group. So the world could look as I've described it. In order to make an argument work, you have to take steps to rule out other possibilities; that's why this argument fails!

That makes a ton of sense now. Basically, since they only tell us about the proportion of people that recognize Schumann's music for both classical and non-classical pianists, but they do not tell us how many of each there are, we cannot deduce that she would be a classical pianist. Thanks
