(E) doesn't harm the argument. Consider the following: I've concluded that smoking causes cancer. To say that (E) Smoking is correlated with lung disease and emphysema does not do any damage at all to the conclusion that it also causes cancer.
Clearer?

I now understand why answer choice B is correct. However, I am struggling to understand why answer choice A is incorrect.

I get rid of (A) because this is an argument about thrill-seeking behavior in adults. I don't think I care about what these "impulsive" adults are up to. I want to know about the thrill-seekers.
