Can you explain why C is wrong? I chose C because I thought it explained why the monkeys have distinct calls for aerial and land predators, since if an animal can only attack from either the air or land (but not both), then it would explain why the monkeys have specific calls for one type of predator or the other.

Let's say (C) is true, and some animals attack from land (only) and others from sky (only). That's interesting info, but it still leaves the question: Why do they need different warning calls for different predators?
I suspect that you've assumed something that's close to what the correct answer (D) tells us explicitly—they need different warning calls because they will take different actions depending on where the threat is coming from.
Is that clearer?
