This question sucked! I guess I see what you mean by some support is offered by knowing horses can store some oxygen rich blood in their spleens but I don't see how it offered more support than B when talking about the same species. Seemed like it was comparing two different things to me and accepting them as similar.

Well, what (A) does is to establish that such a phenomenon is possible. That certainly doesn't mean it happens in seals, but knowing that it does happen in the world makes it a little more likely that it is in fact the operating procedure in the current case.
Remember, we weren't asked for proof—we were asked to make the argument a little more likely.
And (B) makes the conclusion less likely—if they can store O in their muscles, why would we claim that they're storing it in their spleen instead?
