Should i only consider the conclusion of the passage in attacking assumption or simply find what's missing. The fluff sentence in the beginning seem to muddle my judgement in finding what must be assumed.

This is perhaps the purest example of the virtue of my structural reading approach. It allows me to read mathematically—they say X, but Y, so they're wrong: not X.

no major alteration -> no complex reasoning.
So cannot account for the complexity of such behavior became incapable of making major alteration. Is this the way to think? I guess you would need to actively make jumps?
