Hi Dave!
Does taking the conclusion as a single unit method apply to all assumption question?

It's extremely useful in most Sufficient Assumption questions. I certainly do something similar in dealing with Necessary Assumption questions, too. It's really just another way of describing the structural reading I'm after.

Hi Dave,
When it says 'Any writer whose purpose is personal expression sometimes uses words ambiguously' I thought it translates to [Writers purpose personal expression--sometimes--> uses words ambiguously].
Apparently, it translates to [Writers purpose personal expression ----> uses words ambiguously]
Can someone explain to me why I'm wrong? I thought "sometimes" means "some."

The only place you've gone wrong is misplacing the word "sometimes" (you're definitely right that sometimes means some of the time).
If you stuck "sometimes" back there with the necessary condition, you'd have it correct.
In other words, an "if...then" articulation of the sentence would say "If a writer has personal expression as her purpose, then she sometimes uses words ambiguously."
Clearer?
