Sure: In this case, the author has claimed that the statisticians' method is not the surest way of increasing correctness, because it would lead to death.
What does leading to death have to do with whether or not it’s the surest way? We’ve just assumed the surest way must not lead to death.
And that's the problem in this—and every other—ascriptive error.
