I did choose C, but i wasn't 100% behind it because even though we eat the same food and quality of food, the price could have change due to some other reasons.
But it was the best answer. Would you agree?

Well, if we're buying the same foods and they cost us less now (as a percentage of income) than they did before, it must be the case that income has risen faster than the price of those foods (the other option would be that income had stayed stagnant or declined, and food prices had declined even more than income, but the passage rules that out).
This is what we expect from a Sufficient Assumption answer; proof that the conclusion is true.
