I was between A and C, but went with A because the passage says "kind of life they WOULD want for themselves and their children. Is this analyzing too much?

I have two questions:
1. Do you think answer choice B is meant to be read as follows: "A person who fits the ideals of one moral theory in the Western tradition would not necessarily fit the ideals of another... (theory in the Western tradition, namely ‘every moral theory developed in the Western tradition’)"? Or as follows: "A person who fits the ideals of one moral theory in the Western tradition would not necessarily fit the ideals of another… (general person, namely ‘most people’)”? Or as follows: "A person who fits the ideals of one moral theory in the Western tradition would not necessarily fit the ideals of another… (insert any and all nouns here)?”
2. Do you think answer choice C presumes, without evidence, that in order to judge one as not living a good life, one must necessarily possess a conception of a good life? That is, is it possible to negate or reject a theory without necessarily having a theory one would deem supportable?
