In passage 2, question 14, i narrowed the answer choice to D and C but chose D in the end. The correct answer is C but i was curious how you would eliminate D? Thanks in advance!

I am having the same issue with this question. I chose D instead of C but was in between C and D.

Hm. I wonder what happened to my response the first time this question was asked.
Anyway: Here, as with Method questions in LR (CONNECTIVE TISSUE. EVERYTHIING IS CONNECTED. ILLUMINATI), we can use our "Did We?" test to good effect.
In order to choose (D), the passage would actually have had to do (D). But let's ask ourselves: what are the merits of these scholarly interpretations? The author neither lists nor compares them, so this cannot be her primary purpose.
Clearer?

I got #12 wrong and chose answer A. Can you explain why it cannot be this answer.

It's a chicken-or-egg thing with (A). Barbu certainly believes that Aeschylean drama reflects the broader understanding within Greek society. But did Aeschylus create that understanding? The passage doesn't say that he did. Maybe instead he parroted in his plays what he saw in society.
Make sense?

Can you explain why (A) is wrong for #8? I was stuck between (C) and (A), and was stuck on differentiating the first part of each of them.

Read carefully! Answer choice (A) has Agamemnon desiring to avoid battle. What he wants (and what (C) says) is to go into battle!
