Hi Dave! 

I don' t understand the correct choice for this question.

 According to paragraph 3, the admirers are very much aware of the discrepancy and used it to refute the deterministic position. However, instead to reaching the same conclusion as the author, the admirers "seek a new formula to preserve the desired identity between image and reality".

So Shouldn't C be a better choice than B?
