endurance...

Herro,

Any advice on endurance? I think that's really the biggest issue for me. I haven't seriously sat through a full PT yet. with the little practice I've done, section by section, I can just tell this is going to be a problem. the idea of sitting through a 4-hour test just repulses me. I suppose the logical thing to do here is man up and do a bunch of full PTs and eventually get used to it? I was just wondering if anyone has a specific method for building endurance for this test.

thanks

lol i thought about taking 6 or 7 section tests but it never happened. I just take 5 section tests and it's not so bad anymore. I guess you just get used to it over time. My only problem is that by the last section I just want to get it over with and sometimes I don't put in 100% effort.

I think you don't worry about it for now. Concentrate on learning enough about each section that you can answer the questions. Then, you'll start working full sections. After some weeks of that kind of work, you'll put it together and you won't even really notice how long you're at work - each section will be a discrete event, and you'll just string five of them together.

No biggie, right?

Except that the next test is on Monday.

Just kidding.  Little brain breaks thinking about something you already know (ABCs, a song, the most recent sporting event you watched..)  help clear the previous section out of your head and lowers anticipation for the next.

I agree with Dave.  I think the endurance problem is a little overhyped.  I don't know what your response to testing is, but high pressure test taking gives me more adrenaline (and more sustained) than jumping out of an airplane.  Even if endurance was a bit of an issue during practice, when crunch time hits, just ride that adrenaline rush all the way to your best score ever :)

Nice - if you're looking to get pumped ahead of test day, check out the most recent podcast episode (you can click that link just down there to the right).
