I need to write a GPA addendum. The reason can easily be infered by looking at my transcripts, but I want to write out the explanation to avoid any misinterpretation. Plus I want to sneak in a couple extra lines of information that is related but not part of the reason, and it doesn't fit anyplace else. Too vaugue? Anyway, this is going to exceed a page. Is it a MUST that I trim it to one? Would single space be a silly decision?

Another Addemdum Question
Yeah, I think it's pretty important to keep it brief. The addendum is too easily abused, and law schools are all too aware when it's used inappropriately.
An addendum is really the space where you can offer information - facts - that bear on your application but aren't represented within the normal parameters of the app. When you have such info to convey, it's best to do so quickly and objectively: imagine that you're a reporter adding context to a scene. The addendum should be to-the-point and on-subject, without significant editorializing or embellishment.
It's a reason, but never an excuse, in other words.
I hope that helps!

No excuses, but the reason is a series of events that need explanation none of which alone could convey the scope of the reason.
Then the addendum is absolutely the appropriate avenue (that was alliterative!). Stick to the facts, strive for objective analysis of the details, and avoid any unnecessary commentary, and you'll give yourself your best shot at putting together a helpful, application-advancing addendum.

Is it appropriate to reference my personal statement from my addendum or vice versa? "As I mentioned in my..." One will have a deeper explanation and the other will be a one-liner. Or do I assume they will remember all the information and connect the dots on their own? Or, just duplicate the in depth information? Along with my ps I need to write 2 addendum, possibly a third for Loyola and a diversity statement. That's a lot of pages and I am not confident the reader will see the big picture without little reminders from document to document.
That's appropriate, but I think I'd prefer if you simply reference the event rather than referencing the essay's discussion of the event (in other words, simply "This, of course, was after I had saved the thirty-two children from the pulsing, roaring flames..." rather than "This, of course, was after I had saved the thirty-two children from the pulsing, roaring flames, as I mentioned in my addendum.")
But, if it'll help you sleep, you aren't likely to offend anyone by referencing other parts of your application.
