Addendums

Does anyone have a sample addendum I can look at to see how these things should be formatted?  I need to write 2.  One describing my Special Major, and another for GPA, and the second is about my GPA being dragged down by my shitty grades when I was in college the first time around over 25 years ago.  I just need to know what the page is supposed to look like.  Also, am I correct that addendums get sent to LSAC and they distribute it to the schools I apply for?

For the format, it's nothing too fancy: one page; double-spaced; 11-point font; with a clear title ("Addendum Regarding UGPA," etc.), and a header containing your name and LSAC number (or last four of your SSN - just something to identify you).

The addenda don't get distributed - you'll send each individually as an extra piece of your application. You're likely thinking about your letters of recommendation - those will be sent to CAS (a wing of LSAC) and from there to schools.

You may also find some of the info here useful - the last section of FAQ has a few answers dealing with written submissions generally.

Merci!  Is there any order in which I should send things to schools (application, cas report, addendi...) , or should I just sent it all at the same time? What if I want to send an addendum after I've sent everything in.  Suddenly I realize there is an important fact about me they should know ...

If it were me, I'd hold onto everything and send it at one time, but that's only because it would help me stay on top of everything better.

If you submit your application and realize there's anything (including and Addendum) you left out or want to include, just give the school a call and ask how to make sure they receive and review your additional info.

Hi Dave,

I thought we either have or have everything (LOR,addendums, etc.) sent to LSAC. I am glad (iamcaptaindaddy) brought this subject up. I am getting my packages together as well.

Thanks,

Don

Hey, Don,

CAS (the Credential Assembly Service) will take your LSAT score, LOR, transcript(s), and they also have (at least they used to have; just now, I couldn't find it) a generic application tool you can use to pre-populate each school's application.

Your application itself, along with your Personal Statement, Diversity Statement and any addenda, goes straight to the school you're applying to.

Does that clear it up?

Hi Dave,

I am going to apply to CU and DU here in Colorado and they both require that I use the application on the LSAC website. I guess that is where I got the idea that everything goes to LSAC first and then they send it on as a whole package to whatever school you have chosen to apply to.

I know which application you are talking about. CU is closed for this cycle but I will be using that tool this fall.

Thanks,

Don
