why is A wrong?
If you negate A, restoring cathespin to norm level is not the only way to eliminate periodontitits. Doesn't that ruin the conclusion? I guess the langauge is really strong?

It does not, and it's a powerful reminder to pay attention to the language cues we've discussed!
Consider this:
Proper cardiovascular exercise will lead to weight loss. So if we run 3 miles a day, we'll experience weight loss.
To mount this argument, we don't need to know that running 3 miles is the only form of cardio.
Same thing here.

Is it wrong to say there was a prescriptive error here? Initially, I saw a causal flaw, but I wasn't sure how to articulate it. I thought that the assumption was that the argument's prescription would work, or that restoring enzyme levels will actually solve the problem of periodontitis and eliminate it?

Not wrong at all! Quite the contrary.
Keep up the good work!
