Feedlydear lord. what did you guys think? I feel like I screwed something up with the LG and the RC was ridiculous. dont feel good at all mang... and the sad thing is I feel like this test was an easy opportunity to do really well but I might've fooked it

My thoughts exactly. I know for a fact I misread a question in LG and noticed right as the proctor called time. I thought the real RC section was abnormally hard, as in I think I got -15 on it. I was super nervous during it which didn't help at all.

shit mang, i had two back to back RCs in the beginning, started the last passage on the first section with less than 5 minutes left and had to guess on half the questions from skimming the passage. After seeing the general consensus on some other forums I think that was the real section.
The LG seemed really easy to me but I'm afraid I made stupid mistakes because I felt rushed on the 3rd and fourth games, and wasn't confident about a few of my answers.
The first LR section was a little hard cuz it was after my RC and I wasn't in the zone, but the last LR I had, I raped the shit out of it.. or atleast i hope so lol
the shitty thing is i was hoping id be relaxed and chill after taking this but i'm not relaxed and stress free at all fml..
Dave: I'm really curious as to what you thought of this.. I bet you got a 180 lol

3 LR's followed by RC and LG for me. The LG had one type of game I've never seen before, but it was in essence ordering.
I thought all of the LRs and RCs were straightforward. The LG's had me working until the last minute, but I made it out ok. I'm sure I missed a couple in that section, and fell for some traps. I felt it was harder than the recent preptests by a lot, but not impossible.

Both LR's I used my time wisely, I didn't rush and didn't get caught up. I usually finish with 10 mins to spare, but I worked to the last second to double check answers. I'm hoping for no more than a -2 on either of those. But my estimation has been off lately.
LG...LG....On both of my LG it happened again. I worked my hardest, but because of a misreading of rules and my brain not snapping all the obvious things together (ie: Question: What must be true? Answer: B) # must be used Rules: & must be used, If & then # ...Yay I spaced that much) Anyway, I kept working, easiest first, instead of sitting there trying to figure it out I did unnecessary work by writing out every answer choice, and On both I finished the third game as 5mins were called (hopefully I at least got those 3 right.) So I filled in all Bs or Ds or something, then before time was up tried to get some right, (The specific questions were easier than the directive for this quick choice) So all in all, on both LG I probably have a minimum of 3 Wrong and a maximum of 10 lol
LR was actually very easy I found, Weeelllll I mean, the first passage and the A/B passage were easy. Then I realized I was running out of time, rushed through the third with out notes, and started the 4th as 5mins was called so I again filled in all Bs then went back and tried to skim the passage and make educated guesses, so I ended up with 3 completely guessed answers. So I'm expecting between -12 and -5 on that.
I'm just glad I didn't get two RCs, I'm glad I did even on the experimental and the actual LG, whichever that was, and I'm expecting anything between a 163 and a 171. I guess we just have to wait until July 7th. All I can say is that I am glad Dave offers the course for 8 months for retakes!!

I was hoping for my LG's earlier instead of LAAAASTT... Erg. By then my brain was half melted by reading about highways and eukayotes or whatever it was.

Nemo, I might have, but I know I missed Q3 in the RC (I hated all the answer choices on, like, 5 questions in that section, which is very unusual for me and very unpleasant. I think I probably made good choices, except for Q 3, on which I changed my answer to a choice that I knew was wrong after I'd made the change. Argh). So, I thought it was difficult reading.

Any guesstimates on the curve? How many of the recently administered tests have you taken? Wasn't sure you'd want to keep going.

None of them, really (obviously, I worked through them to make the video explanations, but I hadn't really taken a test since 2009. I think that explains my brain density during the reading; I was waaaaay out of practice).
I expect that this test will have a similar scoring table to those of the most recent tests; it seemed comparable. Your guess is really probably as good as mine; if pressed, I'd say -10 for 173 (99th%), -13 for 170, and -21 for 164 (90th%).

damn dude.. i had some questions where i was so back and forth between answer choices on RC.. it really was the answer choices that made it hard for me.. and the fact that it was the first two sections and i was nervous in the beginning made it so hard to focus and comprehend the passages.
i'm going to take two weeks off and start studying again... get ready for another 4 months of me asking you questions lol

I had RC-LG-LR-LG-LR. (Awesome that I never had 2 similar sections in a row) My first LG was ridiculously easy. Too bad it was experimental. The second LG was about average, but had one ambiguously worded question in the third game that I have contacted LSAC about. I spent my last 5 minutes debating on how to interpret that one question. I had the answer to either way of going about it, I just couldn't make up my mind. That has never happened in other games for me....so we'll see. The RC really played to my strengths with the chemistry, forensics, and jazz music passages (I knew there would be music eventually!). One LR seemed slightly on the easier side. I had time to go back and check several answers. The other LR I barely finished and am fairly certain I got one of the heavily conditional questions wrong, for which I slightly hate myself. I think it went about as well as it could given my level of preparation, so unless I completely spaced something and missed a rule in games or went -5 on an LR section, I won't be retaking. Now I'm just hoping for a generous curve, but I don't think there will be.

I don't remember a specifically ambiguous game question, but how did you know which was the Experimental? I'm hoping the second one was, since the first seemed easier, but I'm just hoping which ever I did better on is the one that counts.
Also, Anyone know how many questions were on this one? I noticed that the higher the number of questions the higher the curve. (like a 100 question test -12 would be 168 but a 101 question test it would be 171) just wondering. I'm hoping for a decent curve. I don't have to do perfectly, I just have to do better than 98% of test takers lol

There's been discussion of which topics were in the real one. It was (first I forget), pianists, zones, retail stores. I believe there were 101 questions. Unless the RC really screwed with a lot of people, I don't anticipate a particularly generous curve. I'd guess -10/-11, but I'm hoping for a -12 :)

Wait. How does the curve work. If it is -12 and you score a -12, what is your score? I think Most university courses make the peak of the curve a B, how does that translate to LSAT score?

-12 can be anywhere from 172-168 given the relatively random sample of data I have. It's the 98.6th percentile, nothing to sneeze at.

With the rush I had to go through at the end of RC and LG I'm not expecting better than a -12. Certainly lower than my PTs but acceptable especially if there is a -12 curve.

From what I understand, and I cannot confirm this from the LSAC site, it's never a 1:1 ratio, but rather based on the score distribution. (My source is the Jeff Kolby textbook, not in this course, also it's not bad but Velocity is 10x better.)

You could get a good sense of scaling by flipping through the conversion charts on your practice exams; you'll see that there's a fairly static relationship (though, as you say, clearly not 1:1) between raw and scaled scores.

You always feel worse right after a test than at any other time. I'm sure you did well. Remember; there are lots and lots of questions you got right - try not to focus only on the ones you struggled with (it helps with the waiting, which we all know is the hardest part).
