Another addendum question

Does anyone have any recommendations on how to approach my Special Major?  As I see it there can be three pieces to it, but I am not sure if I need all three.

1) The story of how I found out about Special Majors and the process I went through to set it up.

2) What a Special Major is according to the University.

3) Describe my Special Major; how I selected my classes and with what purpose.

Thoughts?  How much is too much for an addendum?

Sounds like a good structure. I would recommending focusing on how your special major makes you stand out. What is awesome about it? Also, how you are awesome for not only choosing this major, but also sticking with it. Make it known that it was difficult but you worked harder than most, succeeded, and now benefited greatly. Obviously in a way that doesn't sound like bragging.

Hey ether.n,

This has been driving me nuts since I saw your handle. What does that stand for? Your handle is like two letters from completing my last name. Just curious.

It is just my last name and first initial.

What are your thoughts Dave?  I heard on another board not to even do it since it does not explain a negative.

My opinion is that you should write it. I just feel like every legitimate chance you have to write is more room you have to make the school like you.

And given that a Special Major is... uh, well, it's in the name, isn't it? - it seems entirely appropriate that you write 3 paragraphs explaining yours.

what's a special major?

In a nutshell, a Special Major is a major that is something the student puts together when the offered majors does not meet the student needs. It is seldom granted, and only to self-directed motivated students. I pick my own classes from different disciplines, all with my core objective in mind. It needs to be unique and focused; not resembling anything the school offers in their catalog.
